Jim Kellogg, a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, has a diverse background in the healthcare industry. Prior to obtaining his LPN license in 1972, he gained experience as a transporter, orderly, and Nurse Aide. In 1981, he made a significant transition from nursing to join the Hawaii Teamsters Local 996 for a decade. During his tenure, he assumed leadership positions within the healthcare division, dedicated himself to supporting hospital employees, and advocated for their equitable compensation and benefits. Kellogg is committed to ensuring that workers receive the respect and dignity they are entitled to.

Mark, a Certified Nurse Aide at the Care Center of Honolulu since 2004, is widely regarded as a highly esteemed member of our team. Management and our members hold immense respect for his exceptional qualities as a CNA and as a Labor Leader. Mark is characterized by his amiable disposition and exceptional interpersonal skills, making him an invaluable asset to our organization. His infectious laughter is complemented by his unwavering dedication to assisting others, demonstrating a profound sense of sincerity and compassion. In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his daughter, gardening, and traveling. We are deeply grateful to have Mark as a valued member of our Board.

Roland, a 36-year employee of Kaiser Permanente, is an ABO/NCLE-certified Optician. He is an invaluable asset to our union, possessing exceptional instincts in labor management relations. When not at Kaiser Permanente, Roland dedicates himself this Union’s Membership and spending time with his three children. He enjoys surfing and restoring vintage Volkswagen cars. We are humbled to have Roland as a member of our team.

Shao-Lin, a Pharmacy Technician at Kaiser Permanente since 1996, has been an integral member of our organization since its inception. She has served on our Executive Board since its early days. Shao-Lin exudes a calm, direct, and confident demeanor, and her input during meetings is always insightful and succinct. We highly value her wisdom and insights. In her free time, Shao-Lin enjoys playing volleyball, bowling, and spending time at the beach. However, she prioritizes spending quality time with her ‘ohana, including her husband and four children.
