Tony Rutledge

1946-2025

Tony, a teenager, embarked on his career in labor management under the guidance of his father, Arthur Rutledge. With his dedication and hard work, he became a skilled negotiator and labor leader. Tony led the Hotel Workers Local 5 and served as an officer with the Hawaii Teamsters Local 996. His exceptional negotiating skills were particularly evident when it came to cost items like wages, where he demonstrated remarkable analytical abilities. Tony’s remarkable abilities in labor strategy was truly exceptional. We were fortunate to have him as our chief negotiator for an impressive 10 years. His sudden passing has left an indelible void in our union, and we will forever cherish the memories we made with him.
